Museum of Glass Tour and Appetizers & Drinks at the Museum Café

museumofglass.org

On Sunday, May 17th, members of the California and Northwest Chapters gathered at the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, Washington for a guided tour, artist talk, and live glassmaking demonstration, followed by appetizers and drinks at the Museum Café.

The afternoon opened with an artist talk and live demonstration in the Hot Shop, the West Coast's largest and most active museum glass studio. Watching molten glass shaped in real time offered a rare and captivating window into a medium that rewards close attention, and the talk gave patrons an intimate look at the creative process behind works both technically demanding and visually striking.

A guided tour of the Museum followed, taking in works from emerging artists alongside established masters and offering a sense of the institution's broader mission: to chronicle the development of modern and contemporary glass through impactful exhibitions, artist residencies, and a growing permanent collection.
